Airpods 4 not added to my devices

Dear Apple Support,


I have recently connected my new AirPods 4 to my iPhone 11 Pro and MacBook Pro Sequoia 15. While the AirPods are working and playing audio, they are not appearing in the Find My app on either device.

I have verified that Find My Network is enabled on my iPhone. I have also tried re-connecting and resetting the AirPods, but these steps have not resolved the issue.


I would appreciate your assistance in troubleshooting this problem.

The Find My app was not working or available for my Air Pods 4 on my IPhone 12 running the latest system 17. When I tried to pair them to Find My it said I need to update my system to version 18 for that feature to work. Since this was not a new feature I was surprised and thought Apple should tell Air Pods 4 purchasers that this past functionality will require an update to System 18. Since Bluetooth scanning for the device only locates it if the lid is opened- Find My becomes very important for misplaced AirPods.
