Trimming of music from iTunes Library not locking in on Photos Slideshows

I have successfully trimmed length of song in iTunes Library (one purchased & one copied from CD years ago). when I use the sample play arrow in the music icon box the trimmed version played correctly, however when I play the slideshow (in Projects) the original longer version playes instead. Any Fixes Please?
