Issue with Messages since upgrading to iOS 18

First my messages disappeared. And now I am having issues sending messages. They do not always go through. What is very strange is that when I get a message from my wife it says "To you & my wife's name".

We do not share an apple id and we even turned off family sharing to see if that was causing any problems. Also deleted chats on both phones and tried sending again and still getting the same thing.
