Running Monterey 12.7.6. In System Preferences, I have ticked the box 'Allow guests to log into this computer'. In the list of Users and Groups, Guest User has the subtitle 'login only'. On logging out of the my admin account, there is no login option for Guest, only 'Other', which looks for name and password. I do not have File Vault turned on

Boot into Restore mode,CMD+r keys...
Look at top of screen for Utilities menu...
In Disk Utility>View, select Show all Devices, highlight the top left entry.
Run Disk First Aid on all items in the left panel, from top down.
Any change?
We need to see what all is running, a report from this will not display any personal info...

Give etrecheck Full Disk Access before running.

Did the disk first aid: no errors. Still the same problem after restart. I'll have a look at entrecheck when I get a minute.
Surely it can't be that difficult?
Maybe, maybe not, but a few clues mat helpm figure it out... like etrecheck will give us a better idea.
