How to restore icons on Safari Start Page?

several days ago something happened and all I have now on the start page is: <<<Attached>>>>

This has been coming up instead. I wouldn't mind it if it would allow me to add something to Favorites which I have tried for a couple of apps I have been working in lately.

I know there used to be selections as by line or by icon instead of the show/hide sidebar.

Can anyone tell me how to correct this back to what it used to be?

Guess there is no way to correct this problem which I have discovered also affects "Add Bookmark" to favorites. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't but not sure what reason for not posting; possible error on my part in the set up after adding a couple of government accounts successfully.

I had tried to add on some time ago but it never showed so ????

DECEPTIVE EYES, the first was supposed to be William G.'s iMac instead of iPad.
