I have a work iPhone using my Apple ID which has its own number. I have bought a 2nd iPhone to use for personal and want to have the same Apple ID but have a 2nd phone contract. How can i go about doing that?

When you use the same Apple ID for two devices, then all the data will be shared among those devices as well. This includes sharing Messages, Contacts, Notes etc. If this is what you wish to accomplish, then can simply sign on with your Apple ID on your new iPhone during activation and follow the onscreen instructions.
