"Verifying GoogleUpdater" stuck

I've had the popup for "Verifying GoogleUpdater" on my computer on and off for who knows how long, and it was annoying but it always went away. I made the mistake of minimizing the window one time and now it won't go away. The progress bar won't move and when I press the little 'x' it doesn't do anything. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks :)
