iCal Alerts randomly shut off

My iCal on my Mac Studio is just randomly shutting off alerts, even when they are tabbed ON in my notification settings. I'll just suddenly not be getting alerts, yet when I go to my notification settings in my system settings, they are tabbed on.

Then, if I toggle them off, then immediately on again, I get a slew of alerts popping up!!

I'm baffled, and would appreciate any help!
