Ventura 13.7 blocks the installation of the correct Epson printer driver.

Epson states that 12.62 is the correct epson driver for my P900, yet several attempts at installing 12.62 from the Epson site are unsuccessful, resulting in the 13.23 driver being installed instead.

-- printer works fine for a few prints, then with no changes in image or printer, begins printing a thin vertical band of image down center of paper.

Epson believes it to be an Apple issue.

Has anyone had a similar issue?

Give this a try: boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and try to install from there. Then reboot normally.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 2 - 3 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

Note:  if you have a wireless keyboard with rechargeable batteries connect it with its charging cable before booting into Safe Mode.  This makes it act as a wired keyboard as will assure a successful boot into Safe Mode.
