Late 2018 mini running os 15.0.1
cannot seem to change any file or drive icons.
cannot select icon image in “info” window.
nothing happens when I click on icon image.

Restart the Mac mini and try again.
If that doesn't help, startup in Safe Mode followed by a normal Restart and try again.

Personally I use custom Icons for all of my drives on our 2018 Mac mini and 2020 M1 Mac mini's running the last 4 macOS versions including 15.0.1. I do not use custom icons for other folder and files, but they also work when tested.

I’ve been using an older Logitech M510 mouse and a new Satechi X3 bt keyboard.
The mouse has been a little twitchy but click,drag,scroll does function. Only failure has been with changing icon issue

I’ll need try the “safe startup” because all the normal tricks and procedures have failed. This icon issue is a small thing but…….. my OCD wants things to function as they should.
