Problems editing photos after update IOS 18.0.1

Since the last update. I cannot alter text when editing photos. The pop up screen doesn’t stay open long enough to click on any options, like color, font size etc. the pop up also appears in random places on the screen, each time I attempt to edit the text.

Ive been an apple fan since the late 90’s. Over the past 5-10 yrs I feel like the updates just contain changes for the sake of changing things. They don’t seem to improve functionality. In fact it often creates more headaches than I have patience for.
