iphone 16 pro max stuck on hello page

I got my iphone 16 pro max yesterday and it has been stuck on the hello page for almost a full day. I tried hard resetting it and it does not work. I connected it to my mac to restore and update it through there and it gets to the last past and says unable to restore and update. I’m getting really annoyed now and want to know if anyone has been able to fix this problem. I did go to the apple store yesterday and they said their servers are down and that’s why it won’t update.
