Importing photos from iPod nano 3rd gen to MacBook???

hi,

my gran found her old iPod nano 3rd generation (no access to internet) and asked me to recover the photos on the device so she could print them out, ive been struggling to find a way to get them from the device, when opening the device In finder the photos folder is empty, it doesn't have an option to import in the photos app on Mac, I even tried to use third party software to retrieve them (Senuti as was suggested on reddit) but have been unsuccessful. these photos are quite valuable so I would really like to have copies. is there any tricks to help me access these photos?
