How to pair my new kindle device with my iPad and iphone

When I tried to use the audio text reader,the kindle asked to pair with my other devices using wifi, by flicking the switch which would pair using the Bluetooth . Both my iPad and iPhones Bluetooth were on, but the kindle wasn’t connecting to them.
