IOS 18 Car Play Text Message issues

I am having an issue after updating to Apple ios18? I noticed when connected to CarPlay wirelessly, but not using the CarPlay App, it no longer switches to CarPlay when I get a text. I can hear it but no reaction on the screen? I hope this gets fixed in the next patch!

Car Play text messages wont' play after ios update I see this has been posted a few times but can't find a solution detailed. I use wired carplay in my F150, my wife uses wireless in her brand new Mazda. Since we both updated to IOS18.1.1 neither one of us gets a notification on the screen in our vehicles when we get a text message. Previous to the update, it didn't matter what screen we were in, we'd get a text notification pop up, and then it would take you to the Car Play screen. Now, nothing. Meaning I have to regularly tap the screen to open Car Play to see if the text icon is showing a message has been received. Is there a fix for this?

CarPlay text dictation stopped working I have a 2020 Toyota Prius. CarPlay has been working flawlessly with my iPhone 13 until about 2 months ago when text dictation stopped working. I can prompt Siri to start a text but it doesn’t hear the message I want to send. It just times out. Other requests like asking for directions or time-of-day work fine. I got a loaner car a few days ago (‘21 Camry) and tested text dictation using my phone and cable in that car. Worked fine! That suggests that the problem lies with my car, but I’ve no idea how to fix it. I’ve tried removing and re-adding my phone and toggling CarPlay on/off in both the phone and car. I even applied a firmware update to the car’s infotainment system. Anything else I can try?

music does not get muted when listening to text messages while using carplay I have an SE 2020 model running 18.2.1, carplay will not mute the sound source (radio, music from my phone's music app) when dictating texts that I have received, it won't mute the sound source when the navigator is giving me directions, it will mute the sound source when I initiate a phone call. I have a 2025 Toyota RAV4, with wireless carplay. I have discussed this with Toyota and they are pointing the finger at Apple, big surprise!. I'm skeptical because my phone worked with car play re muting audio sources during siri interactions in my old car (not a toyota) all the way through version 18.2. How can I absolutely confirm that this is a toyota software problem?

Same issue here. Message Announce setting is on but underneath it says "Message announcements are currently silenced"
