No ability to do iCloud backup from iPhone - "enough storage" error

Error: You may not have had enough storage for your last backup. Upgrade to iCloud+ for more space.


  • Error appeared after update to iOS 18. After update to iOS 18.1 it's still displayed
  • iPhone 11 pro max
  • I have free plan(5GB). Used 193.9 mb.
  • Enabled toggles: Contacts, Calendar, Reminders, Health, etc. All other toggles is disabled. All enabled things cannot be more than 100mb!!!!
  • Manual backup run still shows same error.

The page you’re showing in the screenshot aren’t what’s included in an iCloud backup, that’s the page of options to sync through iCloud. Instead, to see what’s included in your iCloud backup you need to go to Settings > your name > iCloud > Storage > Backups > the device you get an error trying to back up. This will also show you your next backup size.
