Apple watch not picking up outdoor walks since the latest update.

Before the latest update my watch would pick up if I was on an outdoor walk and ask if I wanted to start it in the fitness center. It no longer does that and I would like for it to.

Automatic outdoor walk on Apple Watch Series 8 Hi everyone, I'm trying to make my Apple Watch Series 8 automatically detect my outdoor walks, but seems that it is not doing so, sometimes it will register some minutes in hours of walking. Apple Watch not recording outdoor cycling automatically Until a few weeks ago my Apple Watch SE automatically detected walking and cycling and recorded the distance in the background. This is a really nice feature because this data also transfers to my health insurance app and I did not need to start a workout for everyday casual bike riding. A few weeks this stopped working. I checked every setting on my phone and watch related to this and tried resetting the watch and restoring it from backup, resetting and not restoring from backup and deleting the "Fitness Calibration Data". Sometimes when I go cycling the watch gives me a notification that it detected that I am cycling. When I start a workout from that notification it displays zero distance. Previously it also recorded the distance already travelled when starting a workout this way. How can I fix this so my watch starts recording cycling distance in the background again? iPhone SE iOS Version 17.5.1 Apple Watch SE Version 10.5

Apple Watch 7 changing exercise from outdoor walk to indoor cycle on it’s own Frustratingly the Activity setting is changing from outdoor walk to indoor cycle without any interaction on my part. It does not happen at any set time, just randomly switches. I have tried changing the display, thinking I may inadvertently be touching the screen, but the issue continues My wife’s Apple Watch, on the same network, for the same walk does not have any issue, so it cannot be a drop in signal. Any help very much appreciated

Seriously Apple. There are records of this function breaking and getting fixed over and over since at least version 5. This is a basic feature of a smartwatch. Test it before rolling out an update. WTF!
