FCPX 10.8.1 Crashes as soon as I try to add KEYWORDS

Hi,

I recently updated to Sequoia 15.0.1 as well as updating FCPX to 10.8.1. The library and projects all seem fine when editing but when I open the keyword editor and try to add some keywords the app crashes. This is happening everytime after I add a keyword.

Whenever the application crashes you should delete its preferences.

To delete preferences, hold down command and option while starting the application and click Delete Custom Settings. The application will start with default settings and open an “Untitled” library. Adjust the settings, reopen the library you were working, and see how it works now.

If the problem persists please run Etrecheck and post its full report here using the additional text button below your message area.

I have a Mac of the same model and year as yours (the only difference being that mine has only 16GB of RAM and 1TB).

It is not normal that Etrecheck reports "poor performance" - this indicates that Etrecheck took significantly longer to run than expected.

You have the google background things that are known to severely affect FCP:

Are you by any chance trying to use a library stored in a location that is synced to google drive? That won't work.

Make sure that the library is stored locally.
