All iMovie projects and videos gone on iPad.

I went to look at all the videos I made with my younger children who are now in college. Opened iMovie and zero is there. As if I had never opened it. Went to files and looked for them there. Nothing. Recently deleted. Nothing. Looked through all my saved videos. Nothing. Like they never existed. I worked sometimes 40 hours on one video. Worst part is most of my children’s childhood clips are gone forever. Please someone help. I’ve searched and searched and done every little trick I know of.
