You have quite a bit of System Extensions installed that are consuming RAM and CPU cycles. This is causing you to use swap files for VM and also slowing write speed on your HD which probably does not have enough free space. CleanMyMac should never be installed and multiple VPN processes are also known to conflict. DiskDrill has a direct affect on your write performance and will slow down everything you do. Figure out what you actually need from this list and remove the rest.

  • Global Protect
  • TunnelBear
  • ExpressVPN
  • OpenVPN
  • com.aaa.windscribe.OVPNHelper.plist (Windscribe Limited - installed 2019-11-11)
  • CleanMyMac
  • DiskDrill
  • ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.github.facebook.watchman.plist

Pay particular attention to the Unsigned files that requires you to disable GateKeeper. Currently the standard Apple Security has been disabled. Make sure your development files have been updated as usually you have to manually do that yourself and it sometimes requires you to remove them, and then install the new version so remnant files are not left behind. Specifically this is for HomeBrew and Intel Haxm that won't auto update when new versions are available..

The problem is the files listed in the report are not just running when you use the app, they are running and consuming resources all the time. Limiting those to the essential files you need for your development workflow will be needed to maximize the performance on your computer.

You don't have enough memory for your workload. You have over 6GB of Swap used, who knows how much Compressed Memory.

You may want to run Disk Utility First Aid on the hidden Container. Within Disk Utility you may need to click "View" and select "Show All Devices" before the hidden Container appears on the left pane of DisK Utility. Even if the First Aid summary says everything is "Ok", click "Show Details" and scroll back through the report to see if any unfixed errors are listed. If there are errors, then run First Again until they are gone. If after several scans the errors remain, then you will need to run First Aid while booted to Recovery Mode. If the errors remain, then you will need to erase the whole physical SSD (Intel Macs only) followed by reinstalling macOS & restoring from a backup.

You may want to run the Apple Diagnostics to see if any hardware issues are detected. Unfortunately the diagnostics rarely detect problems even when hardware issues are confirmed through other methods. You can also run DriveDx (free trial period) to check the health of the SSD. Post the complete DriveDx text report here using the "Additional Text" icon which looks like a piece of paper on the forum editing toolbar. Unfortunately the Apple SSDs have very little health information available, but it never hurts to check just to be safe.

I sincerely hope you have a good backup. People should always have frequent and regular backups of their computer and all external medial (including the cloud) which contains important & unique data. There are a lot more new ways to permanently lose access to the data on the internal SSD due to all the recent hardware, software, and security changes.

It looks like you are running out of free storage. It isn't low enough for EtreCheck to complain yet, but it looks like it is affecting your SSD write speed. It's about ⅓ of what it should be.

Your battery is reporting that it needs to be serviced. That's a hardware failure. When I see something like that, and that fan control software running, I get worried for your safety. Faulty lithium battery, remove emergency system cooling fan, that's not good. I've seen firefighters start to tell people that they shouldn't be charging their devices overnight due to a risk of fire while people are sleeping. They are talking about you.

You have lots and lots of 3rd party system modifications.

According to your EtreCheck report, your computer is struggling just to run Firefox alone.
