Trouble copying Notes from Notes app both inside the app and into Pages. Apple iPhone 11 and MacBook Pro being used

I have about 500 notes on the phone, older ones can be copied, (tap start, tap select all) then an options panel comes up with the option to select copy, all good). More recent notes, same procedure gets a options panel with only three options, not including copy.

not related to size of the note nor the number of photos as far as I can see.

problem seems to be recent, never seen by me before despite using the same processes over and over again

help much appreciated

Hi inspectr,

This might be because you are out of iCloud storage. 500 notes is a lot, which may have filled up your 5GB of free storage. iCloud will prevent you from creating new files in iCloud if you’re out of storage. You should have gotten an email notifying you that you’re out of storage. Try going to Settings/System Settings on your Mac or iPhone and check how much storage you’re using, and what’s using it. Your iCloud storage is under Your Name>iCloud. If not, check the location of your notes - you may be out of local storage.

Don’t think I it’s a storage or memory issue

i have a 256 Meg? iPhone 11 with 84 of the 256 used.

i have a 500 iCloud account less than 30 % used

until last month I could easily copy notes into pages, or to add to another note

Inconsistent problem, sometimes trying to copy part of the note works, but not always.

How are you attempting to copy the note? By copy-pasting or sharing the note? Maybe send a screenshot.
