Stop purchase sharing

My husband died. He was the ‘owner’ of the purchase sharing account. I tried, but I cannot turn off purchase sharing. What can I do?

Have everybody leave the family group and start a new one yourself. If an Apple Music subscription is involved, have each person take out a personal subscription before changing so there is continuous coverage.

If there are children under 13 it become more complicated because a child has to be moved (Move a child to another group using Family Sharing - Apple Support). In that case you may need to get control of the account.
