My wife’s iPhone 16 Pro is not turning on. Several times I have had to push the top volume, bottom volume and then hold the right power button until the Apple came on. And it took much longer than 10 seconds and instead of it coming on by itself, the Apple would show only after I held and released the power button. Did she get a lemon or are others having this problem? She gets a new phone every year so this is not an operator error.

Bought two new iPhone 16 Plus. Did update to iOS 18.0.1. When one phone was turned off and charged overnight, it would not turn on this morning. So far I am trying the force restart multiple times and I have plugged it into a different charger no beeps. Also I plugged it into my MacBook and no beep and not showing up on Finder. This is bad. This has never happened with multiple iPhones over the last several years. Phone $1000 and it does not work after a few days. Ugh. Afraid to shut down the other phone and fear that it will also not be able to be turned down.
This just happened to me for the first time. I think the scenario was identical to everyone else—My battery is set to charge to 90% max, and then I turned off my phone. I’m not 100% certain I turned off my phone before it reached 90%, but I turned it off and unplugged it. This morning, I plugged in my phone to finish charging, and I was surprised the screen didn’t turn on. I didn’t really think anything of it for 10 or 15 minutes, and when I tried to turn it on… nothing. The force restart worked for me. What’s interesting is if I look at the battery level chart for the last 24 hours, the chart is empty starting at the point where I would’ve plugged it in to start charging last night. It also says “last charged to 90%,” and the date is the previous time I charged. All of this makes me hopeful that it is a software problem.
Annoying, this has happened a number of times now in a phone that costs over £1200! Battery is always at 100% but firmware seems to think the battery has no charge, come on Apple, fix this bug!!

My brand new 16 Pro also died after a night of charging. Is this a flaw? Not happy.
Well said. Apple needs to give us a solution to this problem or replace these phones. God knows we pay enough for them.
I won’t shut it off until fixed. To spend this kind of money and have so many issues.
They all have it. It’s the firmware we downloaded maybe the 18.1 or .2

The battery is also horrible. I didn’t have to charge my 14 all day I’m up for 1/2 hour and it’s down to 85
Had the same problem, got a new iPhone 16 Pro -Max , and it is still happening ; Apple needs to fix this problem

You have a one year warranty on your iPhone. Have you taken it to Apple and showed it to them?
I have not shown them that my iPhone 16 died, because it did come back. If I ask for a replacement, would it happen again? It seems to be a random, systemic problem that Apple is not owning up to.
