Safari Not Working

I noticed soon after installing MacOS Sequoia that after using my laptop for sometime, when it wakes up from sleep that Safari doesn’t work. It stop loading any website. Other browsers work but things like YouTube and twitch don’t work at all. In YouTube, the video keeps loading for a long time before it shows me that if the video doesn’t start, try restarting your device.

Also, screen shot app doesn’t work. I tried launching it from spot light search, it didn’t work. I tried the shortcut, it doesn’t do any thing. Although, if I leave my laptop for close to 10 minutes, then I see the cross hair cursor and I can take the screen shot.

Some other apps such as sound source also stop working. It would be unresponsive and when I force quit it, I can’t get it to open again.

All of these problems go away once I start my laptop. But once it wakes up from sleep, the whole thing happens all over again.

Is anyone experiencing the same problem?

I use 16-inch MacBook Pro 2019.

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 15.0

Make sure you aren't using any kind of firewall or other "security" software. At best, you don't need them. Many of them are simply scams.

Same for VPNs. And even if you disagree, you should humour me and identify exactly what is causing the problem. If it is a VPN, then you can look for a different one that is more reliable.

Also go to System Settings > Network and change "Private WiFi address" from rotating to fixed.

Then try it again.

Thanks for the suggestions! Unfortunately, I don't have VPN or firewall. Even the MacOS firewall is disabled (not sure if this is a good thing). And the private WiFi is on fixed.

Those are the most common causes of problems with the new Sequoia release. But it could be from more traditional sources.

Check for Safari extension and disable them all. Don't rely on the "Extensions off Window". That doesn't work.

Also uninstall any 3rd party "security" apps. The goal here is to get the problem resolved. Then you can review what changes you had to make to get there and decide which ones you don't really want and which ones need further investigation.
