Safari does not download files to external hard disks or NAS

Since the update to Sequoia 15.0, Safari on my M2 8GB MacMini can no longer save files to the NAS or external hard disks. The files are automatically saved as a "filename.fileextension.download" file. And the file in the safari downloads tab mentions "cannot move file" underneath it. Other browsers do not have this problem.

Same here. It's annoyng using safari for downloads at this point. But despite all, the file named xxxx.download appears in NAS catalog where i wanted to download it. i just have to select file and choose "show package content" and real downloaded file is in there. and just copy it out to the place you want it to be. the file inside is in fully working condition. Very uncomfotable but you can get to the file anyways.

I have the exact same issue. Using MacBook Pro Max M1 with latest Sequoia (15.3.2 (24D81) and all updates and current Safari Version 18.3.1 (20620.2.4.11.6). I can only download files (of any type) to my local machine and not my NAS. If I try to download to my NAS, I get the file name with a ".download" extension. The files will download to the local machine just fine, but then I have to move them to the NAS. I've checked drive permissions on the NAS and they will allow downloading. This appears to be a Safari bug - please fix it, Apple!

I have the exact same issue. On my Mac mini I have it set to ask where I want to download the files. If I save it to my server it adds .download to the end of it. I look on my server and it's in a folder or if I move the file to my Mac hard drive it's in a folder. I can download from Chrome just fine so this is a SAFARI issue. I tried it on my MacBook and even tho I change the setting to ask me where I want it to download to, it just downloads to the download folder each time (that's another bug). I've quite safari, I've restarted my MacBook and confirmed I'm on the latest OS Just need Apple to fix this now.
