Hi,

It sounds like your MacBook Air M1 is giving you two headaches: the brightness keeps going up on its own, and it turns itself back on after you shut it down. Here’s why this might be happening and how you can fix it.

1. Fixing the Brightness Issue

Your MacBook likely has auto-brightness enabled, which adjusts the brightness based on the lighting conditions around you. While this can be useful, it might cause your screen to become brighter even after you manually lower it.

To disable auto-brightness:

  1. Go to System Settings (or System Preferences in older macOS versions).
  2. Select Displays.
  3. Uncheck the option for "Automatically adjust brightness."

This should stop your Mac from adjusting the brightness automatically.

2. Stopping the Mac from Turning On After Shutdown

Your MacBook Air M1 may have Power Nap or Wake for network access enabled, which can make it turn back on even after you shut it down.

To fix this:

  1. Open System Settings (or System Preferences).
  2. Go to Battery > Options (or Energy Saver for older versions).
  3. Uncheck options like "Enable Power Nap while on battery" and "Wake for network access."

This should prevent the Mac from turning itself back on after you shut it down.

Bonus Tip:

If these issues persist, a quick restart and checking for any macOS updates might also help resolve software-related bugs.
