It was so excited about the ability to schedule send later text messages. But it appears that I am unable to send them to myself, which makes this new feature pretty useless . Can we text ourself a message using the send later feature?

Reminders or another app would be a more common choice here.

I use this feature of Siri, with the built-in Reminders app. Just tried it again, here. “Hey Siri, remind me to pick up some chocolate, tomorrow at 15:00”. Worked fine.
Have you tried asking Siri to do that? She will tell you to download another app. I pay for so many apps already. It would be awesome if Apple could update iOS so that one could have the ability to have Siri set reminders or send future texts as reminders to oneself without needing to pay for additional apps to do it.
