How to add my MacBook To Find My

I purchased a M3 Macbook Air just before the launch of Sequoia. When the OS update was available I updated it. During the startup process, it prompted me to bind the MacBook in Find My to an account. For whatever reason, it decided to bind to my wife's iCloud account. Well after trying a few steps to remove the Macbook from her Find My, I finally just deleted her user account off the Macbook, which prompted for her password to remove it from Find My. Now, I'm trying to add it back to my Find My and it won't let me. I am in the device info on the Macbook and it will not let me click on Find My Mac and switch it to on. Why is this process so difficult? It should never have defaulted to my wife's account for Find My or given me an option to skip it when I set things up after the update.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 15.0

Are you signed into your Apple account on the Mac?

I fixed it. Had to log out of my Apple ID and login again. There should be a fix added to not force people to select an account to bind Find My when going through the start up after the update to Sequoia. Add a way to select a different account or to do it later. It's asinine that it didn't just grab my account in the first place since it is my macbook, that I was logged into both as a user and with apple id.
