How to set up a shared calendar for families (husbands and wives, etc)
I have seen this topic come up a few times. How to share a calendar across husband and wife for example. Where each person can add events and the others (no limit on people using this system) can set this event populate to the calendar. Do note that every person using this calendar has EQUAL rights to make and DELETE events. So everyone using it needs to understand you have the power to share and mesh it all up just the same as others.
What I have done on several occasions is make an account on a service such as google or hotmail. I use an email address such as Chr******@gmail.com or Smi*******@gmail.com as the account name. This sort of depends on the service you use. Then for each person, you set up an account on your device to log into that account. Then you select the services you want to share on to your device. Be it a laptop or phone. You can sync just the calendar or things like email or contacts. I mostly just use the calendar on the devices for each person. Then this calendar just auto syncs between all the people and devices when you add events to this specific account. You need everyone who wants to know about the event to make sure this EVENT gets put on to this specific calendar. If you leave the event on your default device calendar, it will NOT show up on the sharing calendar and thus not appear on the devices of all those who are logged into this common calendar.
I hope this summary helps others out. I find it very useful with my partner as well as coordinating activities of my kids.
