Safari 18- I can no longer tear off a URL from the address bar and drag it to my desktop.

I can no longer tear off a URL from the address bar and drag it to my desk.

How inconvenient.

Is there a workaround?

I’m now having this problem too, since the Safari update. When I click the web address in the address/ search field, I no longer see the website icon or “favicon” to be able to grab it with the trackpad and drag it to the desktop . I can select the text of the web address , but dragging that to the desktop is hit or miss (mostly miss). This is not happening with Firefox, just Safari.
