Apple Music on Android does not play Apple Music

This week, Apple disabled iTunes on my computer and all my purchased music disappeared. Apple told me to download Apple Music instead. I did that and got all my purchased music back in Apple Music on my PC. I tried using the same app, Apple Music, on my Android phone, but it will not display my music purchases. Can Apple Music for Android be made to display and access all my purchased Apple Music? I have purchased thousands of songs over the years.
