Photos widget gone after iOS 18 update
After ios 18 update, for some time photos widget was working. But suddenly it disappeared. Now there is no option to add the widget for the photos app

By any chance are you using the new Require Face ID option (locking apps by using Face ID)?
You will not be able to use the Photos widgets if you’re requiring Face ID to unlock the app. If you still want to lock your Photos app behind Face ID and want a photos widget, there are several apps that can accomplish this (just share the photos you want to add with the app).
