Unable to connect to wifi after upgrading to ios 18 from ios 17- iPhone 13

Hi, I upgraded to iOS 18 yesterday. However, I'm observing that I'm unable to connect to my home wifi network. It is a saved network and used to connect without any issues before upgrade. However after the upgrade, it fails to connect to the wifi network. I tried below steps but still nothing works.

  • Restart the iphone.
  • Force restart
  • Forget the wifi network and connecting again.
  • Restarting the router.

When installing the update, I was on cellular network. Does this have to do anything with that?

Update: iOS 18 has a new feature where it rotates your Wifi address (mac addresse) of iphone to reduce tracking. I have an ACL configured on my router to allow specific mac addresses only. Hence the issue. Changed the settings from rotating to off and the issue is resolved now. Apple shouldn’t have enabled this by default.
