How can I fix missing Touch Bar controls for Calculator in MacBook Pro?

I’m also facing the same issue with the missing Touch Bar controls for the Calculator app on macOS Sequoia. It’s frustrating to see this feature removed, especially after getting so used to it.

I’ve submitted feedback to Apple asking them to restore Touch Bar support for the built-in apps. I encourage others to do the same so that Apple takes notice and hopefully brings it back.

Thanks, done! I know that new Macs no longer have a touch bar, but I still have one with it, and I personally find it very useful.

I posted my indignation on the Apple Feedback link, I think that if several people complain about this, maybe they'll solve it... for me, this is a lack of respect for old users...

other apps such as FaceTime also lost Touch Bar support, and now when holding a letter for an accent mark the options don't appear on the Touch Bar. I honestly think that this is an intentional move by Apple

I am very disappointed to find Touchbar support removed in Sequoia, specifically regarding Calculator, Facetime, &c. It still works with typing and spellchecking and so forth, which is good, but it was really nice having the Touchbar be useful with the built-in apps.

I understand the whole sunsetting of the Touchbar – it never quite took off as hoped, adoption was lower than expected, it was additional cost and resources – but isn't this exactly the kind of thing that build Apple?! Not boondoggles, but introducing great features and supporting oddball requirements that made for rabid fans?

Seeing this feature disappear so soon is frankly insulting. Paying the premium for Apple products becomes much less attractive when the things we think we're paying for suddenly disappear.

I do not see this option for Calculator.app

I realised my touchbar does not work with certain apps such as Calculator and Facetime. I am not sure if it sed to work with Pages up, but now it doesn't. I also reported this issue as a bug. Let's see if they resolve it soon. Using the calculator app without the touchbar feels waste of time. I just switch to my phone for calc use which is net OK.

i saw the touch bar didn't work for Calculator and I really miss this. I thought it was kind of unique and sort of elevated the MacBook Pro experience. I realize my model is a bit older but it still works great. I see the touch bar does work for website favorites and for opening another browser. I would like this to keep working thanks.

Now, apple don't want us to use Touch Bar, with newer software, and it is going to be a piece of tech idle on M1 and M2 MacBook Pro, so that when we upgrade to newer Mac in future we don't feel the inconvenience of not having a Touch Bar.
