iOS 17.7 update doubled the size of iOS18 update

The first time during the evaluation, the system offered to install 17.7 or switch to 18, notifying about the release of 8 GB for installation. But for some reason I decided to install 17.7 on 500 MB and the required update to 18 doubled from 8 GB to 16 GB. Is this some kind of glitch or what should I do?

Trouble installing iPadOS 17.0.2? Trouble installing iPadOS 17.0.2? I installed iPadOS 17 without issues. But when I try to install the update 17.0.2; I got a message saying I need at least 5GB of storage to install it. 5GB for. 95mb update seems odd? Either way I had more than 5GB of storage. But after I tried installing 17.0.2 my storage increased over 4gb. It is showing up under the download for the 17 install. It says iPad17 has 12 GB of data. See below. any one else having this problem? Anyone know how to solve the problem?

'Insufficient Space' error when updating iPad mini despite free storage I am running an iPad mini 5th generation with iOS 17.7.2. Trying to update to iOS 18.2.1. There are 20+ Gb free storage space on the iPad, but I am getting an “Insufficient space to download the software” message. Any suggestions how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. It looks like they are doing it intentionally to make older iPhone uses to upgrade phones or buy the iCloud! U Menya ta ze Samaya fignya!
