New laptop with Windows 11, can't sync my music to my I-phone 13

When i bought the new laptop Geek Squad did the transfer. I can see my music in the Music folder and in Apple Music which I downloaded because it said that Itunes only supports Podcasts and books. I'm getting the feeling that to transfer music to my phone I need to pay for the Apple Music. I currently can listen to my music from my phone bur want to edit and add to it. Any help?
