How to order new iphone 16 Pro Max for Visible serview carrier?

I’m a Visible customer as well. Visible is offering the iPhone 16 with $350 of credits for new lines only (and that’s the only way to finance it). I chose to buy through Apple. I have an Apple credit card and am taking advantage of the 0% financing. It forces me to choose a carrier (I chose Verizon). I have to pay a $35 activation fee but as soon as I get it, I can transfer it to Visible. If you’re doing Affirm, the same would apply. I chatted with an Apple rep to make sure and they confirmed there’s no other fees involved and I can switch.

Unless there's a significant discount by purchasing any phone locked to a specific carrier or you're using financing provided by that carrier, or the few instances where the carrier you want to use insists that you have one of their locked phones to take advantage of a specific plan, it's always best to purchase an unlocked phone. There's no good reason otherwise for buying a locked phone and many reason why you don't want to. So while we'll have to see how the preorder is set up to be able tell you exactly what to select, it'll probably be "other". But if it's not obvious, contact the Apple Store when preorders open up and confirm. And of course check Visible's terms for the plan you have or wish to sign up for.

How did that work for you? I did the same thing and thought the process would be handled in the store but it wasn't. Did you complete the procedure? Did you activate your Verizon service and then cancelled right away so all you needed to pay was the activation fee? I don't want to pay more than that, like 1 month with Verizon or something like that. Thanks!

Also, I spoke to 3 people at Apple Support/Customer Service and they did not know. The last person said to ask Verizon directly and I did that. Verizon said the phone would be locked for 60 days before I could use it with any other carrier. That could be wrong too. Looking to see if anyone has actually tried what was mentioned in the text history. Thanks again.
