iPhone 16 Pro 128gb limitations

I'm not sure why you wouldn't want to save 9.1% on the price if the extra storage is useless for you.

Previous 128gb models had limitations (no 4K120), the question is relevant and pretty simple.

We want the best iPhone (ie : not the x3 on iPhone 15 Pro vs Pro Max, not the lack of 4K120 on previous 128gb models vs 256gb), and we would like to be sure there is no limitation this time, without being forced to buy the 12To model or 27" model.

From what I read on specs : no limitation this time. Good.

You can also record to an external drive if space becomes a problem.

I'm not sure why you would want to buy the 128 GB version for the purpose of recording 4K video at 120 FPS. It just doesn't make much sense. On the U.S. Web site, the pricing is

• 128 GB – From $999
• 256 GB – From $1099
• 512 GB – From $1299
• 1 TB – From $1499

It would be a no-brainer to go for at least 256 GB of storage even if you didn't have something as storage-hungry as 4K 120 FPS video in mind. The 128 GB phone costs 90.9% as much as the 256 GB one. You're going to throw away half of your space for storing (music, movies, TV shows, photos, videos, apps) just to save 9.1% on the price?

That only makes sense if you know for certain that you will be using the phone in ways that don't require very much storage. Remember that you cannot expand the device storage later.

Let's be clear. Recording in 4K 120FPS, will be a memory hog. If you plan to record a LOT of video in that medium, NO, 256 may not be enough. I watched a YouTube video last night by a professional photographer who WILL be primarily recording everything in 4K 120FPS and he ordered the 16 Pro Max in 1TB and he's concerned it won't offer enough storage for his needs. Now, if you plan to record the videos and then offload them somewhere else as in some other cloud storage location, then remove them from your iPhone, then storage won't be critical. But if you plan to keep everything in the iCloud realm, then you need the most storage you can afford. Also if you are close to being out of space in iCloud, you need to upgrade to a higher level plan (6 or 12GB).

Yes it does matter. iCloud storage does not add storage space to your phone, phone storage is a fixed size and can't be increased.

iCloud storage is a syncing service, it is not for storage. If you add videos to your iCloud space and delete them from your phone, it will delete them from the cloud as well.

That’s why I use Google One cloud storage (currently 2tb subscription) to archive all photos, videos docs etc with iCloud as backup for only what’s currently on the phone, freeing space up on the phone itself.And passport for physical archive.

Yes. It won't be able to hold as much video (or other data) as one with a larger storage option.

So when you have iCloud 2T , does 128G or 256G matters?
