iPhone 13 malfunctioning after iOS 17.6.1

The latest update, iOS 17.6.1 has rendered my phone useless. It started off with a glitch and then immediately the screen turned static, akin to an old TV. However, spasmodically the screen would render itself, but as soon as I enter the passcode it'd glitch out. I tried to perform a hard reset and even tried to invoke DFU, but the phone just doesn't respond to them. Trying to restart it with the volume up + volume down following a long press of the power button doesn't turn it off. This was yesterday.

Today, when my alarm went off the screen did show life; well, sort of. The snooze button was just yellow with no text whatsoever and it popped up far lower in the screen compared to it's usual position, so much lower in fact that it was very close to the stop button, which was also rendered with no text, just a grey rectangle with rounded edges. On clicking this "stop button", for a moment it did seem like everything was in order. It seemed to display my notifications on the lock screen just fine; the clock, battery percentage, network carrier, lock screen wallpaper all seemed fine........but then it glitched and turned static.

I'd really appreciate any assistance on this matter.

A. Update Using a Computer:

Perhaps the update was not 100% successful? See if you can proceed with the update once more, this time using computer. Use my User Tip: Update your iPhone Using a Computer - User Tip.

B. Report this to Apple:

Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue.  Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of you occurrences, if you don't report it to them.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
  2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: that this all began after installing an update. Include the URL of this thread
  4. Proceed from there as necessary

Thanks for the followup reply.

Static iPhone Screen with Reboots:

By those words, it seems your iPhone may be stuck in a Boot Loop. This typically occurs when you go about installing an update, and it stalls while in the process. See my User Tip. It’s halped 333 people as of this reply, and it might just get you out of this static, boot looping l, device. My user Tip: How to Fix an iPhone in a Boot Loop - Apple Community

Report back the results.

Right, so an update. I tried to update it via the Apple Devices application and it just made it worse. Now my screen's just displaying static. I found this Reddit post which looks identical to how my phone does now : https://www.reddit.com/r/applehelp/comments/k96fw1/static_screen_on_iphone_12_pro_max_never_seen/ .

Another new "bug" or as Apple would like to call it a "feature" is that this now static screen just turns itself off and on. Pressing the side button does nothing at all. Also, I have noticed that my phone's noticeably warmer. I'd reckon it at least 5°C - 7°C warmer than it usually is.

I'd really appreciate any insight on this.
