Child's location no longer updating in 'Find My'

Since my child turned 13 and took control of their google account - their location hasn't updated in 'Find My' - we both have iphones (mine is an Iphone 12 mini and his in Iphone XS) and he is set up as part of our 'family'.

I asked him to look at his settings but his apple ID is greyed out so he can't click on it.

We both have location sharing turned on so I can't work out what I need to do in order for his location to show up again.
