In Column A, I list purchases by name with the credit card or debit card used in brackets. In Column B, is the amount. When I come totalling up at the end of the month, how do I show the total for only "Card 1" and not for anything else? Is there a formula for this?

Can I also use SUMIF (or another formula) to total only items that are in a specific text colour; or does it only work with word strings?
No, text colour is formatting, not values. However, you can use Conditional Highlighting to set text colour depending on a string. Then SUMIF by strings.
