Air Tags - Duracell CR2032 Batteries

Beware that some Duracell CR2032 batteries are not compatible with Air Tags. Another post her mentions this. Hopefully this helps reduce any headache with returning the batteries. My CVS experience was a pain.

Duracell CR2032 won’t work with Air Tag I was reading another thread discussing the fact that Duracell won’t work with the Air Tags when replacing the battery. I began checking for this information after the Duracell I purchased yesterday wouldn’t work when I tried them. I have now wasted £10. If it is known that ,as a result of the fowl tasting childproof coating that Duracell puts on their button batteries , they don’t work with Air Tags why is it not widely advertised? The battery replacement instructions just say to install a 2032. It is very frustrating. It’s great the Duracell are looking out for the 2800 children who swallow these batteries annually however, they should ensure that the batteries still work prior to selling them.

Air Tags Not Re-Connecting Hi I have 4 Air Tags - one battery has expired - Have changed it to a Duracell and subsequently found they are coated in something which means they wont work. Bought some cheap batteries as suggested elsewhere & still no joy Any suggestions or recommendations for a battery manufacturer that do work would be appreciated

airtag batteries and bitterant Does anyone know which brand name of batteries will work, if I install them in my airtags? I tried to replace batteries in my Airtags today, but figured out the hard way that batteries with a bitterant coating do not work. Where I live Duracell and Energizer are the common brand names. Duracell has a bitterant notification on its package. Internet posts advise that Energizer batteries have such coating as well.

Yes, these Duracell batteries are known to be problematic with the Apple AirTags. Just doing a search at this community forum, you will find numerous posts here on this exact topic ... including some "workarounds" to use them with some claiming success.
