Green Checkmark at the Top of my iPhone

I was scrolling Facebook on my phone and noticed that when I closed out the app a black bar with a green checkmark now appears anytime I am not on Facebook. How do I get rid of that?

iPhone 14 Pro Max, iOS 17

Have you tried swiping left (or right) the Dynamic Island to see if it clears the check mark?
