Today Apple Pay ended - no fix apparently

Trying to make a purchase as I have done 5000x and all I now get is, failed update billing address. But the message is truncated so you can't even read what it says on the Mac. This is the first time I have had Apple Pay completely fail with bad information. So I will use another card, and I guess my card now needs troubleshooting. This is the problem with a computer company offering a credit card. Worked great until she glitch decides it doesn't. Wasted 15 minutes trying to retype the same informaion, no errors. no address checks. Just fails at check out. Who do I call, Apple, Goldman? The CC company has no idea why the Mac won't allow purchases. When you offer customers finance options it's not fun for them to fail at the worst time with poor error messages and truncated lines that can't be acted on.

I get that you’re frustrated by the experience you had, but there are really no specifics to your post. I’ve been an Apple Card account holder for 5 years now and have had minimal issues with the account. When I do online checkout using Apple Pay, I prefer to use my iPad or iPhone. My Mac tends to have more issues with Apple Pay. I can sometimes trace it to website issues, web browser issues, merchant issues and on rare occasions issues with Goldman Sachs.

Does Apple Card show a decline? If not, the information never made it to the bank. Who is the merchant? It’s certainly possible the merchant or the merchants credit card processor was having issues. Even their network could have been experiencing issues. If it happens consistently, there would be more to go on, but as you’ve posted it’s pretty much one of about 6 or more potential failures in what could be broadly described as technology.

I think you’re seeing a pottery barn website error. Please review my screen shots. This is how Apple Safari works when offered an Apple Pay purchases on the Pottery Barn website.

Please note the right facing arrow ( > ) and tap it.

At top left is the edit button and bottom left allows you to add an address, select it, and then tap done.

It never reaches the merchant. You do the checkout on the web page, it was pottery barn, so a big merchant. Double click, it authorizes your face ID. The I get a Red exclamation on the phone. That's it. The Mac pops up a dialog that says confirm billing address but its in red within the authorization window ad it cuts off what looks to be 3 more lines in the window. This is what made it 10x more frustating, I can't read the error. I found pages with 1000s of instructions to fix this, and they don't match up with the current OS and didn't make any difference. So basically I dont have much more to share other than this and that it didn't work.

Believe me I get that I have no info to share, since thats what happened. No info, a partial sentence that says confirm billing address within the apple page. The fact they can't figure out how to fix the text of the error within the error window, using a mac in Safari is crazy. It's just a credit card, so I get that, I used another. It's my fault for not taking a screen shot or running debug, but who figured an Apple credit card wouldn't work and be able to give you a full error message? Sadly I have to do a check out and place the order to test this again. I appreciate you trying, but sadly they didn't design this to fit error messages in the dialog box, or something changed but it also makes troubleshooting near impossible. I was just really shocked to see it not work in such a strange way. But my Mac Studio has a 10gig port that works 10% of the time. there was never a solution. Just hundreds of folks complaining about it. Then when you buy the M2 the problem is gone. I love Apple but the problems and glitches are bad these days.
