how to keep kids from buying apps and it charges my debt card for every app they buy

We use family sharing/ purchase sharing and the default payment is my debt card. so every time my kids buy an app without me knowing, it charges my debt card and i cannot afford it anymore. is there a way to turn it off without deleting their apps i agreed to pay for originally? For instance they both have snapchat and a bunch of game apps that i am ok paying for. But they keep charging new apps to me without me knowing.

The Family Organizer receives requests by default, but another parent or guardian can be assigned permission to approve purchases.

Tell that that if you approve a purchase they need to make sure they have adequate personal balance to cover the cost of the item so it does not automatically charge your card.
