My old G5 iMac, which I just use as a photo display frame, now freezes with the blue screen on startup.
It's running on OSX 10.5.8
I've tried rebooting from the install disc, running disk utility first aid repairs, booting up in safe mode (works), running file permission repairs ...
but still won't boot up in normal mode.
Anyone got any other suggestions please?

By 'ASD' I'm guessing you mean 'Apple Support Discussions'? But I don't see any reference numbers on the forum.
I have seen your advice on January 14 2016 to a similar problem and followed the steps but my G5 still wouldn't boot in normal mode.
In that post you said "If none of that works & it's not 10.5.x Server edition we have something else to try."
Any chance you could advise on that 'something else'?

See if you can find ASD 2.5.8 or ASD 2.6.3
