Data Format not working in Keynote

I'm trying to insert live date and time inside a table cell with the "data format" feature in Keynote on a IPad.

However I'm not getting this feature to work. When selecting the date and time notation, there is no text being changed and the table cell is still blank. I have also tried inserting text first into a cell, highlighting the text and then inserting the data format, but to no avail. I have tried the same process on an IMac, IPhone and IPad, all with the latest software, but on all devices the cell stay blank when trying to inserting data format.

Does anyone know if I'm doing something wrong, or is this maybe a bug?

Could you please provide your detailed steps? In my attempt, I first created a new presentation and then inserted a table. Then I entered the dates in the table. After that, I selected the cells and set them to Date & Time format in the Format menu. Everything seems to work normally. How is it on your side?

Is it your goal to have the date/time update each time the Keynote presentation is opened, or a static date/time entry? If the former, you want a single cell with the date/time formatting set to your preference, and then enter the following equation in that cell:

=now()
