Hello - I recently purchased an LG Ultrawide 35' monitor - it states the recommended resolution is 3440x1440 and it seems my M2 does not have this option. The result is a poor visual experience that I cannot seem to fix. I am connecting with an HDMI and do not wish to use any 3rd party application.

There’s a discrepancy. Your screenshot indicates an LG HDR WQHD …
This description from LG shows that model is 34”. Are you certain you indicated the correct model monitor? (All WQHD monitors are 34”, even those with different complete model numbers.)
Change the refresh rate to 100Hz and see what resolutions are offered. Your LG display is a 100Hz display. Your screenshot indicates 30Hz, which is quite low.
Hi, thanks for responding. Yes - I am sure. The monitor is recognized, however the monitor prompts me to use 3440x1440 resolution which is not an option according to Mac M2. Very bizarre and difficult to believe this is a limitation for Macs. What am I missing?

Hopefully the above link gets you to an LG 34WR50QC-B monitor owner’s manual.
On page 18, the first note says in part:
”HDR content may not display correctly depending on Windows 10 / macOS settings …”.
3440x1440 is a different ratio than the ones you are offered here.
Are you certain you followed the suggestions in LG’s manual to properly identify your external display to your Mac?
Will M2 Macbook support 3440x1440 resolution?
