iphone stuck verifying update - disconnected my mobile network - Help!

Hi, I tried to update my iphone 13 after encountering rapid battery drain, thinking the update would help. However it got stuck for hours on 'Verifying update' and so I was forced to hard reset (volume up down and power button held down).

My phone is now completely without any mobile network which worrying. I've deleted the downloaded update 17.6.1, and attempted to re download and and reinstall - but the same thing is happening stuck on verifying!

So I can't use my phone, nor can I update. Can please someone assist before I take to apple 😢

I'd be so grateful for advice - thanks.

So after trying, and failing to update via finder on my mac (I received an error 4000). I then spoke to apple support and they ran diagnostics remotely, finding a compatibility check alert on the iPhone for Mid/Rear System, and eSIM presence check. Indicating a possible hardware issue! I have never known an iphone update to cause hardware to fail, although perhaps it was already failing. Either way, I'm upset that I now have to potentially have my phone wiped in order to be repaired. Would strongly advise caution if you are thinking of updating to ios 17.6.1😢

Thanks, but I already tried the hard reset. Whilst restarting allows me to access my phone and get rid of the frozen 'Verifying update' screen - it does not reconnect my mobile network which seems to no longer be working since the interrupted update I believe? Really can't find much about this anywhere.

After talking to customer service I am being told to update my phone via my mac directly to download and install the update instead. Apparently this will resolve things... but I'm not hopeful! Will update here if mobile network is reconnected, and if update is successful 🤞
