Kid's Family Watch App Installs

My son has an apple watch SE and is trying to install a free app. The watch wants him to enter his ID password, but the watch SE only has the scribble feature for entering passwords, and it always reads o as 0. Also, we tried to change his password to a simpler one, and Apple wouldn't allow it. How can we install apps from the watch app store? Is there another place with a proper keyboard that we can enter his password?
